Erasmus+ Staff Mobility for Training at:
Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television, University of Ljubljana
In the framework of the KA131 Erasmus+ Mobility Projects, I had the opportunity to visit Academy of Theatre, Radio, Film and Television (AGRFT), University of Ljubljana. It was my first time to visit Slovenia and University of Ljubljana, at the same time it was my first Erasmus+ mobility experience.
First of all, I would like to highlight the effective communication, good coordination and well designed organization of my mobility by the International Academy Office and other colleagues from the Academy professional services with whom it was a great pleasure and honor to work.
My host was Pia Mikolič , Head of the International Office and Public relations. Thanks to Pia my five days training program week (9-13 October) was developed by next Academy units: Faculty Secretariat, Staff HR Services, Student and Finance Services and Library. Thanks to the dedicated efforts, warm hospitality and highly professional colleagues, non-teaching staff as well as teaching staff, I have gotten better acquainted with the structure, organizational culture and way of operating Academy and gained wider knowledge and understanding of a education system and academic environment in Slovenia. I was introduced with the practice and experience of the organization and organizational process of the professional services in order to apply good practice in improving the functioning of Dean’s Office and FDA professional services. During academic talk and dialogue we developing plans, ideas and mechanisms for more intense and interdisciplinary cooperation between our Institutions in future.
It was a special pleasure to be a part of the unique, annual AGRFT Festival 2023, which promotes students films and theatre achievement during the past years. I had pleasure to visit innovative studios for editing and sound design, new screening rooms and modern theatres stages. It was a fantastic experience to attending theater performances, film screenings and various exhibitions, to meet students as well as their mentors and share experiences about creative processes.
An important part of my training was a four-hour long meeting with AGRFT confidential person for students and all employee who have been impacted by any form of violence or mobbing. During the meeting I was introduced with gender equality policy and policy for prevention and response to all forms of violence and discrimination University of Ljubljana. We exchanged our experiences and thoughts regarding legal framework, raising awareness, creating the agenda and better mechanisms to prevent violence at our Universities. We discussed about Protocols and mechanisms for improving legislation and prevention.
I emphasize that I also had a wonderful leisure time with my colleague. We visited sights and attraction of Ljubljana –Ljubljana Castel, Plečnik’s Ljubljana, Tivoli city, theaters, museums, galleries. I also managed to visit oldest and most carefully preserved medieval town Škofja Loka and stunning Lake Bled.
Let me conclude by saying that this staff mobility was extremely important for my personal empowerment and contributed to the further advancement of my professional skills and competencies and also in mastering new skills for responding to abrasive behaviors in the workplace.
At the very end, I would like to thank the University of Arts in Belgrade and the University of Ljubljana for giving me chance to participate in the Erasmus + program and thus improve my knowledge, skills and abilities in order to meaningfully contribute to the academic community.
