My experience of ERASMUS+ mobility in Ljubljana

In the 4th and last year of my Bachelor studies, I finally got the chance to experience student mobility in another country. I chose the Academy of Music in Ljubljana, Slovenia. This is a small but nicely organised city and a beautiful country with a similar mentality as other Balkan countries where I spent most of my life. So it wasn’t a big problem for me to adapt and to communicate with the students, teachers and the staff in the Academy.

I studied flute with Prof. Matej Zupan. He is by far one of the best flute professors with whom I studied. He is and was kind and understanding, very helpful and understanding when it came to the explanation of the “flute stuff”. We had an amazing time working on the program I was preparing for my diploma exam in Belgrade.

I also had an opportunity to play with the chamber group in the class of Prof. Bojan Gorišek and in the wind orchestra under the baton of Prof. Miha Rogina. We worked on the music of the 20th century and our collective sound and music understanding.

In the organisation of Prof. Matej Zupan, we prepared an interesting concert which was held in the Music School in the city of Murska Sobota. We had a chance to present different works of classical music in different flute ensembles, featuring different instruments. Also, I had a chance to perform in concerts as a solo, chamber and orchestra musician. That means a lot to me and my professional experience.

My goal with this student exchange was to gain more musical experience and knowledge. And that is exactly what I’ve got. I highly recommend this experience to everyone!
