“From pigment to pixel” – presentation of the results of the Erasmus+ project DIGARTED
On Tuesday, February 27th, 2024, an event From pigment to pixel – a pedagogical approach in digital arts learning in higher education was held at the Rectorate of the University of Arts. The purpose of the meeting was to promote the results of the Erasmus+ project DIGARTED (Digital Art Courses in Higher Education Institutions), as well as the promotion of specialized study programs in the field of digital art.
The attendees were addressed by prof. Mirjana Nikolić, Ph.D., Rector of the University of Arts, Dragan Dimčić, M.Sc., prof. FDA and the head of the program, who presented the results of the project and pointed out the role and contribution of the team of the University of the Arts : Aleksandra Jovanić, Ph.D., associate professor FFA, Mina Cvetinović Pavkov, Ph.D. assistant professor, FDA and Predrag Miladinović, M.Sc., head of the Center for IS .
Partners in the project were University of Humanistc Sciences and Economy in Lodz, Poland (coordinator), Academy of Arts of Latvia, Technical University in Košice, Slovakia as well as non-governmental organizations DigitAl, Center for Technology CETRI and Artit Athens.
In the second part of the program, a panel discussion was organized with representatives of the gaming industry who actively participate in the creation of teaching programs and the realization of the practice of students of the University of Arts. Their needs for professionally trained personnel are guidelines for the further development of the competencies of our students, who, in addition to specific ones, also acquire broader artistic and managerial knowledge required in the world of creative industries. Participants Relja Bobić, (Serbian Gaming Association), Igor Simić (Demagog Studio), Srđan Obrenović and Petar Veselinović (UBISOFT) took part in the discussion and the moderator was professor Dragan Dimčić.
In the third part of the program, study programs related to digital art at the University of Arts were presented – at the basic academic studies: Visual effects, animation and game art (FDA); Animation (FAA); New Media (FFA), then Master of Academic Studies – Video Game Art and Design (UA) as well as the oldest academic program – Doctoral Academic Studies of Art Digital Art, where the first generation of students was enrolled as early as 2005.
The meeting was attended by numerous guests, representatives of the Ministry of Information and Telecommunications, freelance artists, as well as employees of institutions and companies that actively cooperate with the University of Arts. The gathering concluded with a festive cocktail in the hall of the Rectorate.
