Erasmus+ Mobility for Teaching at:

University of Zagreb, Academy of Music

Between October 20 and 26, 2024, I had the privilege of staying at the Music Academy in Zagreb. During this time, I delivered lectures to musicology students, colleagues, and guests of the Academy, focusing on the music of sound masses, the ways of cognizing time in this music, and the potential for narrative interpretation, or the poetics of plot, in this music.

The lectures took place in an exceptionally pleasant and welcoming atmosphere, thanks in large part to my colleague Sanja Kiš Žuvela, as well as to the enthusiastic musicology students. Through selected thematic units, I presented a segment of my doctoral research that I believed would be of interest to them, offering new perspectives on the subject. Additionally, the topics I covered have the potential to become an integral part of the existing curricula at both the Faculty of Music in Belgrade and the host institution. Thus, I viewed my stay at the Music Academy in Zagreb as an opportunity to test the validity and true potential of the results I achieved in my doctoral thesis. I also viewed this mobility as a valuable opportunity to establish contacts with students and colleagues from the region, as well as to strengthen and deepen the professional ties that characterize the relationship between our two partner institutions.

During my stay, I participated in the Third International Conference on Psychology and Music – Interdisciplinary Encounters, where I presented a paper to colleagues from both the region and beyond. This provided another important opportunity to forge new professional connections and to disseminate the scientific results I had achieved with the support of the Faculty of Music, where I am a staff member at the Department of Music Theory.

I am deeply grateful to have been part of this project and for the opportunity to meet so many wonderful and inspiring young people at the Music Academy in Zagreb. The organization of my mobility by the host institution was flawless, and I would like to express my sincere gratitude to my colleagues, Sanja Kiš Žuvela and Ema Proso Šepec, whose efforts ensured that my stay proceeded smoothly, that I felt truly welcomed, and that I departed with a strong desire to return. I eagerly anticipate future opportunities for collaboration and continued professional engagement.
